Philippians 3:1-4 King James Version (KJV)
3 Finally, my brethren, rejoice in the Lord. To write the same things to you, to me indeed is not grievous, but for you it is safe.
2 Beware of dogs, beware of evil workers, beware of the concision.
3 For we are the circumcision, which worship God in the spirit, and rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh.
4 Though I might also have confidence in the flesh. If any other man thinketh that he hath whereof he might trust in the flesh, I more:
Philippians 3:1-4
YLT 1 As to the rest, my brethren, rejoice in the Lord; the same things to write to you to me indeed is not tiresome, and for you is sure; 2 look to the dogs, look to the evil-workers, look to the concision; 3 for we are the circumcision, who by the Spirit are serving God, and glorying in Christ Jesus, and in flesh having no trust,
4 though I also have cause of trust in flesh. If any other one doth think to have trust in flesh, I more;
These are my thoughts, please share yours.
1 No matter what comes our way whether good or bad, we should give praise to the Lord, us praising Him should never be conditional on our what is happening in our life because no matter what with Him our life is better and that is worth giving Him praise. If we remain in the place where we keep praising the Lord we do something right.
2 There are those who act as if they are of the faith but live as the world but then there is this group that teachings you must come to Jesus and… by Jesus alone we are saved. We do not have to hold up to man’s teaching because He did the work because we could not be good enough or do anything to can into heaven it is only by Him. Circumsion is apart of the Jewish covenant, them saying this had to be done showed that they were wanting them to first become Jewish before coming to Christ, Christ came for non-Jewish as well.
3 Our covenant is not sealed by the cutting of flesh but is sealed by the blood of Christ. Our bound to Christ is beyond the blood but is sealed by God in the Spirit. He gives us His Spirit. No matter what people say that does not save us or make us better He does.
4 Paul did many things but He praised God and did not take credit for himself. Paul kept the law but without Christ he said it all was worthless. Apart from Christ what we do truly does not matter.
