2 Corinthians 6:14-16 King James Version (KJV)
14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?
15 And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel?
16 And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.
2 Corinthians 6:14-16 English Standard Version (ESV)
The Temple of the Living God
14 Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what partnership has righteousness with lawlessness? Or what fellowship has light with darkness? 15 What accord has Christ with Belial? Or what portion does a believer share with an unbeliever? 16 What agreement has the temple of God with idols? For we are the temple of the living God; as God said,
“I will make my dwelling among them and walk among them,
and I will be their God,
and they shall be my people.

14 This is directly referring to marriage but also can mean that we shouldn’t have close ties to those of the world, we should not let the world influence us but those who follow Jesus as we do. One of the greatest things is two people coming into union in Jesus name and living in a marriage to honor and serve Him.
15 This is the reason Israel was not to marry outsiders because outsiders serve other gods. This verse is not saying we aren’t to interact with those of the world because we are to shine light to them but is saying that we shouldn’t let them be covers to the light.
16 We as Christians house the Holy Spirit. This verse is fulfilled today thru anyone who comes to faith.
