Isaiah 1:4-6 King James Version (KJV)
4 Ah sinful nation, a people laden with iniquity, a seed of evildoers, children that are corrupters: they have forsaken the LORD, they have provoked the Holy One of Israel unto anger, they are gone away backward.
5 Why should ye be stricken any more? ye will revolt more and more: the whole head is sick, and the whole heart faint.
6 From the sole of the foot even unto the head there is no soundness in it; but wounds, and bruises, and putrifying sores: they have not been closed, neither bound up, neither mollified with ointment.
Isaiah 1:4-6
ACV 4 Ah sinful nation, a people laden with iniquity, a seed of evil-doers, sons who deal corruptly! They have forsaken LORD. They have despised the Holy One of Israel. They have gone away backward. 5 Why will ye be still stricken, that ye revolt more and more? The whole head is sick, and the whole heart faint. 6 From the sole of the foot even to the head there is no soundness in it, [but] wounds, and bruises, and fresh stripes. They have not been closed nor bound up nor soothed with oil.
These are my thoughts, please share yours.
4 They turned their backs on the Lord to follow after evil to reject the Lord is be a victim to paths of evil. To reject the Lord is to find corruption. They had guilt but they only used it to keep sinning so they perhaps could find pleasure there.
5 Their punishments were a results of evil ways and the Lord wanted them to turn back to Him so He could stop sending them punishment for their ways, He wanted for their ways to be holy, He is the same way with us today.
6 They could not see how bad they were because they were living so far out of they light, they did not come to the doctor to see how sick they truly were.
